White Cottage
This is a small sketchbook style painting, but has great character and superb colouring,
A small white cottage is nestled in surrounding woodland, a track leading to it. There appears to be a tent pitched in front of the cottage. This is may be one of Archer’s many holiday destinations.
A photo of a similar looking cottage has been found in Archer’s photograph albums. Was this a cottage where he stayed for a painting holiday.

PROVENANCE: In Archer’s portfolio of paintings as part of the private family collection, UK.
INSCRIPTIONS: No signature on the front, the back has a small pencil mark in one corner, possibly A.L.S initials?
CONDITION: Slight yellow ageing, but colours still bright.
