PROVENANCE: Part of a private family collection, UK.
INSCRIPTIONS: Inscribed with initials on the bottom left border.
CONDITION: This watercolour is in good condition with some foxing on the border.
May be Archer was sitting in a boat when he created this painting, as it depicts a view back to a shoreline. Several small boats can be seen in the foreground with a few quaint fisherman’s cottages above the beach.
The location is unknown at present and needs further investigation.
