CONDITION: This watercolour is in good general condition, with slight yellowing.
This gorgeous subtly coloured but spontaneous watercolour provokes a feeling of stillness.
The subject of this painting is a quiet bay scene it may well have been in Guernsey, as it is known that Archer spent time there, alternatively on the south coast of England
The back of the painting has the words The quiet bay – evening written on in.
